No fewer than three digital projects by Oliver Schrott Kommunikation have been nominated for renowned sector awards. The OSK streaming and content series “Meet Mercedes DIGITAL” for Mercedes-Benz is on the shortlist for the Deutscher Preis für Online Kommunkation (DPOK) (German Prize for Online Communication), as is “Crosscamp – Brand Positioning with a Digital Focus” for the Erwin Hymer Group. Furthermore, the Mercedes-Benz Deutschland YouTube channel has been nominated for the YouTube GOLDENE KAMERA Digital Award 2020 for the #letsdrivemercedes series.
In its tenth year, the DPOK recognizes digital campaigns and projects and is awarded jointly by Quadriga and “pressesprecher” magazine. The winners are determined by a jury of 55 representatives from the corporate, agency and publishing side of the marketing and PR sector. This year, there was a special category for communication associated with the coronavirus crisis.
“Meet Mercedes DIGITAL” is in with a chance of the title as one of five projects nominated in the special “Digital Event (Covid-19)” category. The new streaming and content series from Mercedes-Benz is aimed at journalists and multipliers, and combines previously live events and PR initiatives in one digital online format. It is state-of-the-art, informative, entertaining and far-reaching.
“Crosscamp – Brand Positioning with a Digital Focus” for the Erwin Hymer Group is one of five nominees for the “Strategy of the Year” award. The project is particularly notable for its digital emphasis in the launch of the new “Crosscamp” ingredient brand. Its focal points included content from influencers with substantial reach who tell authentic stories of their travels to the most exciting places on Earth. Under the hashtag #VanLife, their stories brought the brand more than 36,000 fans.
The judging and the award ceremony for the DPOK normally takes place in Berlin. However, this year, it will happen virtually on October 15 and 16.
The YouTube GOLDENE KAMERA Digital Award 2020 is determined purely by viewers via online voting, with the winner announced on September 9. “Mercedes-Benz Deutschland” is one of six nominated accounts. The content of the #letsdrivemercedes series continues to generate millions of views thanks to attractive and authentic execution and shoots with superstars such as The Weeknd.
