OSK and Daimler win with Freightliner world premiere
:Cologne/Dortmund, January 21, 2016 – One-two win at the BEA® BlachReport Event Awards: The world premiere of the Freightliner Inspiration Truck won two of five award categories. The project, which was already honored with several German and international prizes, won the BEA® Award, not only for the best PR/Media Event, but also for the best production. In the history of the renowned competition, was only the second time that a double victory like this was achieved.
The jury substantiated its decision inter alia as follows: “In scenography and production technique, the world premiere was a class of its own. Its spectacular impact on the media was achieved by a multimedia experience. The outstanding live effect ascertained the high media attraction. In comparison to the priceless media equivalent, the event budget was used with highest efficiency.”
The prizes were awarded as a highlight of the trade fair Best of Events International 2016 in Dortmund. For the ninth consecutive year, the editors of the trade magazine BlachReport honored – in cooperation with other influencers – outstanding live communication projects.
“The fact that the world premiere of the Freightliner Inspiration Truck convinced the jury of BEA BlachReport Event Award in two categories, once more proves the special appeal of the concept: presenting unique technology in a spectacular setting. The worldwide recognition for this makes us proud”, said CEO Oliver Schrott.
With the spectacular presentation of the first autonomously-driving truck to have public road authorization, OSK and Daimler transformed the Hoover Dam into the largest drivable stage in the world, in May 2015. Sixty high-output projectors created a gigantic projection measuring 420,000 square feet on the 725 feet-high dam wall. With 1.17 million lumens, the projection was awarded a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ for greatest light output in a projected image on the evening of the reveal.
