One-Two Win at BEA Awards

The jury substan­ti­ated its deci­sion inter alia as follows: “In scenog­raphy and produc­tion tech­nique, the world premiere was a class of its own. Its spec­tac­ular impact on the media was achieved by a multi­media expe­ri­ence. The outstanding live effect ascer­tained the high media attrac­tion. In compar­ison to the price­less media equiv­a­lent, the event budget was used with highest effi­ciency.”

The prizes were awarded as a high­light of the trade fair Best of Events Inter­na­tional 2016 in Dort­mund. For the ninth consec­u­tive year, the editors of the trade magazine BlachRe­port honored – in coop­er­a­tion with other influ­encers – outstanding live commu­ni­ca­tion projects.

“The fact that the world premiere of the Freight­liner Inspi­ra­tion Truck convinced the jury of BEA BlachRe­port Event Award in two cate­gories, once more proves the special appeal of the concept: presenting unique tech­nology in a spec­tac­ular setting. The world­wide recog­ni­tion for this makes us proud”, said CEO Oliver Schrott.

With the spec­tac­ular presen­ta­tion of the first autonomously-driving truck to have public road autho­riza­tion, OSK and Daimler trans­formed the Hoover Dam into the largest driv­able stage in the world, in May 2015. Sixty high-output projec­tors created a gigantic projec­tion measuring 420,000 square feet on the 725 feet-high dam wall. With 1.17 million lumens, the projec­tion was awarded a GUIN­NESS WORLD RECORD™ for greatest light output in a projected image on the evening of the reveal.
