Cologne, July 2011 - Three projects from Oliver Schrott Kommu­nika­tion were awarded the desig­na­tion “Winner” at the Auto­mo­tive Brand Contest 2011. Our entries were based on projects which the agency had conceived and real­ized in its func­tion as leading agency for the Mercedes-Benz Car Group or for Daimler AG over the past two years.

In the cate­gory “Archi­tec­ture & Events”, both the “Smart exhi­bi­tion at Zollverein Mine” and the “Mercedes-Benz Rastatt factory exten­sion” convinced the jury of eight. In the cate­gory “Audio­vi­sual & Digital”, the film “Road Trip” which OSK had produced for the Mercedes-Benz “evening-before event” on the occa­sion of the Detroit Motor Show 2011 was also awarded the acco­lade of “Winner”.

Manu­fac­turers, archi­tects’ offices and agen­cies had submitted over 300 projects in a total of 15 cate­gories to compete in the Auto­mo­tive Brand Contest orga­nized by the well-known design forum “Rat für Formge­bung” (“Design Council”). In addi­tion to the acco­lade “Winner”, the jury awarded 13 entries the desig­na­tion “Best-of-Best” and made addi­tional special awards.

This year was the first time that such a compe­ti­tion for this sector of commerce had been held, and it was the first inter­na­tional brand und design contest for the auto­mo­bile industry. The “Design Council” was thus rewarding outstanding efforts in the fields of brand lead­er­ship, brand commu­ni­ca­tion and design in the auto­mo­tive sector. “As Germany’s auto PR agency number one, it was essen­tial for us to partic­i­pate in an auto­mo­tive compe­ti­tion which also judges event concepts and film projects,” explains OSK managing director Michael Kemme.

The winners will be presented on the first Press Day at the IAA within the frame­work of Auto­mo­tive Designers Night on 13 September. In addi­tion, they will be part of an online exhi­bi­tion and will also be presented in a compe­ti­tion publi­ca­tion.
