Freightliner world premiere wins renowned US award
Cologne/New York/Denver, May 4, 2016 – One year ago, the spectacular world premiere of the Freightliner Inspiration Truck attracted a lot of attention internationally. Exactly 12 months later, the production was honored in the US with the demanded Ex Award as “Best Press Event”.
The prize was awarded in Denver at a gala during the “Experiential Marketing Summit”. In the US it is regarded the “Golden Globes” of the event industry. The Ex Awards are the only US-prize for communications where only brand marketers decide on the entered projects exclusively.
“That the distinction with the Ex Award was declared exactly on the first anniversary of the world premiere makes this prize a very special birthday present for us. One year later, we are still very proud of the recognition which our extraordinary concept received from many sides”, states Andre Poehlker, CEO of OSK New York. The Freightliner World Premiere has already won FAMAB Gold, the European Excellence Award, euBEA Bronze, two BEA Awards as well as a double BizBash Event Style Award.
For Daimler, OSK had transformed the Hoover Dam in May 2015 into the largest drivable stage of the world and staged the first autonomously driving truck with road approval there with high media attraction. 60 high performance projectors created a gigantic image on the 221 meters high dam wall, which measured 39,000 square meters. This projection reached a light output of 1.17 million lumens – the highest value ever measured – and was awarded a “Guinness World Record” still on-site.
