Facebook Videos Challenging YouTube Videos

A few days ago, Facebook updated its video features to include bigger videos, embed and scheduling features as well as more sophisticated video targeting tools based on age, gender and location. These new updates bring Facebook’s video feature in close competition with YouTube. Initially, Facebook’s videos were meant to share short personal videos for families and friends. But the latest video feature updates indicate that Facebook has ambitious plans as a video platform – plans that could seize YouTube’s numero uno position as a video platform. Further, it is reported that YouTube’s ad revenue share policy, considered as unfair by many, is tilting the tables in Facebook’s favor.

However, there are many businesses and business units who are non-starters. They find it hard to navigate an increasing number of social media platforms. All social media activities have to fit in the framework of the customer’s journey. What are these influential touch points in the customer’s experience? Find the answers in this guide to social media landscape.

Messaging Apps Could Be the New Medium

The rise and growth of messaging apps is proof enough of the immense potential and popularity of phone to phone communication. The latest news in the messaging world is not another app to download, but rather the positioning of messaging apps as a platform for vendors to integrate and build new services and apps. This trend is significant in the sense that it has the potential to do away with the App Store as a place to discover and download new apps. Users will have the chance to do that in their message flow. Chat platforms which are slowly getting e-commerce friendly could soon become the new medium for everything mobile.
