Spaces create emotions. And emotions pave the way for communication. Oliver Schrott Kommunikation has its own in-house team of architects that creates environments for brands, products and experiences, and develops three-dimensional communication formats.

In 2002, the General Directorate of the futuristic “City of the Arts and Sciences” in Valencia tasked the agency with the creation of the Restaurant “Submarino” in L’Oceanografic, Europe’s largest aquarium. In keeping with the high standards of the facility built by star architect Felix Candela, the agency’s architectural team conceived an open spatial concept with a central bar, selecting timeless furnishings with modern classics and contemporary accents.

“In ‘Submarino’, guests feel they are in a deep-sea restaurant,’ wrote the “Feinschmecker” magazine, and praised above all the “large light fixtures styled to look like Chinese lampions”, which bathe the restaurant day and night in a white light that harmonizes perfectly with the cool blue of the surrounding aquarium.
