Cologne, May 2011 Today Berlin saw the start of this year’s Michelin Challenge Bibendum. From now until 22nd May over 5,000 international companies and research institutions will be presenting their technical solutions for the sustainable mobility of the future on the site of Berlin’s former Tempelhof Airfield. Some 500 journalists and media representatives will be reporting from here to the four corners of the earth. For the first time in the ten-year history of the Challenge Bibendum this huge event will be opening its doors to the general public on two of its days.
As Michelin’s leading agency, Oliver Schrott Kommunikation will be in charge of all PR and press work in connection with the Challenge Bibendum 2011. For many years this internationally renowned event has been one of the world’s most important platforms for alternative drive units, intelligent traffic concepts and greater road safety. Under this year’s motto “clean, safe and networked” the extensive programme includes not only an environmental rallye and a parade through the city centre but also interesting exhibitions with series-production vehicles and prototypes, workshops, forum discussions as well as a special Students’ Day.
The tasks of OSK comprise not just the entire pre-reporting, the production of the extensive information and press material together with the conception and control of the various online and socio-media activities but also the organization and implementation of the Leaders Forum on 20th May. This experts’ meeting at which star personalities from politics, the economy and the sciences will present and discuss their visions of mobility for tomorrow is seen as one of the highlights of the Challenge Bibendum 2011. UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon will be having his say via video link.
Oliver Schrott Kommunikation is Germany’s leading agency in the fields of automotive and environmental PR. In the communication which surrounds the Challenge Bibendum, Michelin will benefit, in particular, from the agency’s great funds of experience in the fields of future technologies and alternative drive units as well as from our expertise in organizing PR and press events. As well as Michelin, Daimler will also be relying on OSK at the Challenge Bibendum 2011. For the corporate group, our agency developed and implemented one of the most extensive commitments shown by any manufacturer at this Berlin event.
