Cologne, April 2011 Exactly 41 days before the official start of the Michelin Challenge Bibendum 2011 in Berlin, OSK starts the countdown to the event with a prelude press conference in the German capital’s famous Red City Hall. Alongside Dr Patrick Oliva, Director for Future Research and Sustainability at Michelin, the star cast included Berlin’s Lord Mayor Klaus Wowereit, who gave the inaugural speech.
OSK is in charge of all aspects of Challenge Bibendum communication. For many years this large-scale event, to be held from May 18th to 22nd on the site of the former Tempelhof Airport, has been one of the world’s most important platforms for alternative drive units, intelligent traffic concepts and greater road safety. In Berlin, more than 5,000 companies and research establishments will be presenting future-oriented solutions in connection with sustainable mobility to a broad general public for the first time. Klaus Wowereit, who has a long history of commitment to making Berlin a centre for E-mobility, is convinced of the concept behind the Michelin event and declared in his opening speech: “We want to create a world of competence and experience for E-mobility on the former Tempelhof Airport site. For this reason I am both happy and satisfied that we will soon be playing host to the Challenge Bibendum here in Berlin.”
Oliver Schrott Kommunikation is Germany’s leading agency in the fields of automotive and environmental PR. In the communication surrounding the Challenge Bibendum, Michelin will benefit, in particular, from the agency’s great fund of experience in the future technologies sector. The agency’s principle tasks in connection with this press conference included not only the entire organization of the event, all editorial and graphic work but also co-ordination with Berlin’s State Chancellery. Both the conception and the control of the social media activities are also in the hands of OSK. So this was the first time that tweets and postings were sent live from a Michelin press conference.
