Cologne/Beijing, July 15, 2010 The Cologne PR agency Oliver Schrott Kommunikation (OSK) has underscored its international strategy by founding a subsidiary, OSK Public Relations Consulting (Beijing) Co. Ltd., in the Chinese capital Beijing. Having already set up a US office in New York, OSK now maintains two foreign establishments. It has been represented in the US economic and media powerhouse since the start of 2008. OSK is the first independent PR agency in Germany to operate establishments of its own in Asia and America.

Referring to the agency's interest in Asia, managing director and founder Oliver Schrott explains, "The opening of an office in China is a logical consequence of our sustained commitment to foreign markets. We are already implementing about half of all customer projects outside of Germany. In this context, China is steadily gaining in significance for us as well. We first became active in China back in 2003, but we now intend to advise, look after and support our customers even better and in a more concentrated way."
OSK is launching its Beijing office with a team of six employees, headed by 30-year-old general manager Sabine Pfennigsdorf. She was most recently employed by Siemens AG as a marketing communications manager. Her responsibilities included analyst relations in Asia. Customer accounts are to be managed by Janette Lajara, 34, who has been recruited from the Chinese PR agency NTI after spells with Mercedes-Benz and Seat Switzerland. Both women dispose of extensive experience in Chinese affairs. The other team members are three Chinese and one German, who will be engaged in developing and implementing communication concepts for the local market.
